Finding Water holes in our Country - Emmalisa Johnston 172-21

Acrylic on Canvas 40 x 40 cm

Pre stretched $360

For our old people who grew up in the bush, clean drinking water and knowledge of where it could be found was very important. This knowledge was passed on through generations so that families could carry on living.

This painting shows water holes with lines, which are the way the water runs through rock and sand after rain and collects in small areas. The different colours show where the water is on top or close to the surface of the land, or where it is deeper below the surface.
