Janganpa is the ancestral brushtailed possum who travels over Warlpiri country and nests in hollow trees. The story comes from a big hill called Mawurrji, west of Yuendumu.
In Warlpiri paintings traditional iconography is used to represent Janganpa tracks as an 'E' shape and concentric circles represent the hollow trees.
