gail choolburra

My name is Gail Choolburra. I was born on Palm Island Nth QLD.  My mob is Kuku-Yalanji North Queensland and Pitta Pitta from around Boulia Western Queensland.  I’ve lived in Healesville for around 35 years.
My interest in art and painting started about 10 years ago.  I usually draw inspiration from my love of colour, contrast and nature. Different colours and colour combinations attract my attention and will often inspire me to paint.
When painting, I often think about the story I am creating on the canvas and sometimes my intuition leads me to change direction as I see new possibilities emerging.   I am currently exploring other styles of painting to incorporate into my work.
