jacqui wandin

Sharing culture gives me inspiration. Sharing stories and artistic technique with two other artists around the fire gave me inspiration for my work. I walk around on Country, at Coranderrk, looking for big fallen branches. My partner helps me find and collect good pieces. I then lay my hands on the timber, rubbing them over every part, asking my ancestors by name to guide me.
What I’m doing is a part of them.
Tarnuks (wooden bowls) represent everything to sustain life. They carry water, food and babies. Like a cradle, they nurture us.
What I end up creating depends on what I find and how it develops, therefore the price depends on the size and the hours required t complete it.

Please contact Hearth Galleries if you are interested in commissioning Jacqui to create a tarnuk.
